And what's even worse, when CAs purchase stale accounts (see all the CAMCO and Gulf State postings) they pay 1 - 5 percent of the amount charged-off. That could be mere PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR! And the CA will try to get you to pay the FULL amount so they can reap a huge profit. That's how they stay in business. Corporate welfare at its finest!
