Yep it sucks but is true. No SOL. The worst part is when it hits a CA they can charge up to a 48% fee and add it to your bill. Also, you are being hit with a million late fees and interest charges and it will never ever go away. They will nail your tax refunds also. You can call them up and ask about rehabbing the loan. Basically you pay like 10% down and a small percent a month for 12 months. After that the bad loan is removed from your credit reports and it is entered as a good installment loan. Luckily 2k is not alot in student debts although it may seem that way to you. This is one bill you cannot afford to ignore.
