As to someone posting a correct e-mail address to their law firm, or a verifiable name and address, it is not considered "advertising" according the the Bar Association rules, as long as you post the standard disclaimer. There are MANY lawyers who use their expertise and time to post answers on legal information forums, and they frequently help many people with correct information and informed responses to serious legal questions.

There are also, I believe, many people who are lawyers who also post on various forums who DO NOT identify themselves as such, as the very process of identifying oneself as a lawyer confers an obligation (in my opinion) to provide verification of the claim.
