I was hoping it would turn out we're more friend than foe, and looks like we are. You must have checked out my web page to see the Mensa connection. :-) I've been to one Mensa AG -- New York in 1986. Have been in Mensa long enough to have met and liked Margot.

I've delved a fair amount into local contract law and the UCC, including SOL. I'm not too familiar with FCRA. If you have noticed an absence of my comments on that subject, that's why. Just haven't had a case where that played a prominent role. TILA has turned out to be a cruel hoax for consumers. Car dealers get away with 0% financing and nothing seems to happen to them. Unfortunately, Congress loosened up the rules a few years ago.

Educating bill collector defendants (and consumer clients) can keep me pretty busy. I'm just amazed at the dumb things bill collectors do to get themselves in hot water. It's fun being the stove. :-)

I was delighted when a couple of courts held that suing on a stale debt violates FDCPA if the lawyer is a "debt collector." (Not all are -- it depends on how much collection work the lawyer does.) There's a whole new job out there of teaching debt collectors that lesson -- including that National Check Control guy threatening ND client with jail over a 5-year old check. It was researching him that led me to find this forum. He's playing hard to get -- refusing CMRRR. No matter, the sheriff will be happy to serve him. It all gets tacked on to his costs of suit when he loses.
