declined approval/authorization for same code 2. was told by computer activated response system same "although no unpaid check info is on file, certegy did not have sufficient info available to approve the transaction, or this transaction exceeded a pre-established limit". I, too have perfect credit, substantial bank accts, etc., and have for over 50 years. after multiple tries to reach someone other than a computer, i managed to get thru to someone, but only after being put on hold for close to an hour (when i was told the wait would be seven minutes). after much to do with customer service, was told the only way to avoid non-authorization in the future was to complete an application for certegy's "gold program". this would provide banking and financial info to certegy and hence, if accepted, i would no longer encounter check writing problems. the card i rec'd from the merchant states i have the right to know and request a copy of the information contained in my file at certegy. i did request it by phone but will also request it by letter. customer service also stated that my bank, a very large institution nationwide, will not share my banking info with them. therefore "the check had fallen outside of the appropriate guidelines and when that occurs, it becomes a higher risk involved with the acceptance of that check". further questioning and repeatings of the same quote, i was further told that although no prior bad credit history or check writing problems were reported, i did not meet the criteria certegy established mutually between the portfolio of the merchant and my personal portfolio. further questions... told the portfolio established on behalf of the merchant was confidential and would not be shared with even the merchant (as the merchant was eager to assist). one other note, i went directly to my bank to seek help-thankfully, the bank manager knew the merchant personally, called them and with my permission, detailed my extensive banking and credit history. this proved beneficial because the merchant was able to see a problem exists with certegy. i will seek legal assistance and contact state attorney general's office. will post anything new.
