I am about to contact some creditors to pay off some small debts in hopes that my credit scores will increase (via rapid re-scoring).

I have never dealt with creditors before, and need some solid advice.

Here are my questions:

1. How should I pay? Check, credit card, etc? My concern is that I can't track the transaction in the event they claim I never paid.

2. What guarantee do I have that they will provide me with something that says I paid the debt in full? Should I receive something in writing? Or, does the rapid re-scoring system handle this?

3. Any advice on dealing with them is GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks
