My husb had a unsecured credit card with a credit union and in 1994 he was sued and a judgment is in affect. He never showed up for court to take care of this, so now this is what's happened. We bought a place 2 yrs ago with horrible interest rate, now approved for GOOD loan, "Then" i found out there is a lien on our property for 4400.00. So, i called the collections agency to pay it off and OH GOD, there is interest on top of that in the amount of 3700.00 and they will NOT negotiate that amount! What are his rights? If any I simply told the lady i wished i had diled bankruptcy back then and told her then you would not be getting ANY money back!! Why cant they just DROP the interest charges? I dont know hwat to do!
