My husband is in the process of disputing debts with a CA. One of the accounts that he disputed was a telephone bill. Upon request for validation, the collection agency stated that the bill was only in his ex-wife's name and was therefore not included in the info sent. That letter was dated October 15th. Today we pulled husband's credit report and the account is still listed as an unpaid collection. How long does the CA have to remove an item? Especially after admitting in writing that it never had husband's name on the account??? Not even marked as disputed...
