No, it isn't personal. However, when someone shows up here and tells consumers NOT to exercise their right to sue in small claims (or any other consumer rights) I am inclined to wonder what their motivation is.

I take it you haven't read many of the other messages on this board. Several people here have sued in small claims and won, and several have answered when sued, and have done very well. Perhaps it was just not your THING. Not everyone can do it - some are too intimidated, some cannot do the reasearch for various reasons. I think if you read a little more, we quite often ask the person "Are you up to this?" and if they are not we tell them to get a good consumer lawyer. But again, not everyone has to have a lawyer to come out on top in small claims court.

Small claims is specifically designed for "the little guy" - anyone can sue anyone for anything in this country. And if they are smart and have done their homework, and really have a case, they can win. Or, sometimes, even better than winning, they can make the creditor or CA back down.
