Unfortunately, Kelly is correct, it is a waste of $$ to try these credit repair companies.They are scams and ripoffs.

As to dealing with the cc companies yourself, if it has been a year then you are likely dealing with collection agents and not the credit card companies themselves.

Give us a little more info, like what State you are in and if and when the accounts were charged off.
