I think you may have a bigger problem than rudeness. If this collection agent was assigned the debt for the original creditor you should be paying with an agreement in writing from the OC. If you have been paying without such an agreement, you have no assurance this ca is even entitled to collect anything. Which may be why he is pressuring you, as he may be trying to extort more $$ before you wake up. You say you are within SOL, when was the first time the account was late to the OC? You say this was from your divorce agreement, are you a co-signer on the account or was it in your ex's name? Have you checked your credit reports? How is this account being reported?
