Oh boy. One month to go. Cali's SOL for CC debt is 4 years which would put you at 12/2002. I would send a validation/dispute letter (CRRR) and hope that they take their sweet time or even better do not respond. The idea is to buy time until your SOL is up and if the acct. is disputed by you, collection activity cannot legally continue. You definitely do NOT want to send a "cease & desist" letter to them because that will allow them to contact you one more time about the acct. and that contact most likely will be in the form of a lawsuit right before your SOL is up.
