I am sorry that you are in this difficult situation. It is shameful that your ex isn't paying CS... Anyway, the last thing you need is to get tangled up with a scumsucking CA attempting to extort money that is MUCH better off going to you and your children. You do not want to talk to anyone at any CA and most definitely not make any "deals" with them. You are under enough stress as it is. I would send the validation/dispute letter requesting the "kitchen sink" - everything, signed contracts w/your signature on them, transfer agreements between Citibank and the scum CA, date of charge-off, date of purchase/assignment, amount paid for purchase, etc. You want THEM to prove that this is really yours and at the same time, you are stalling for more time. PA has a six-year SOL on CC debt and you need to find out when you STOPPED paying Citibank, since that will be the beginning of SOL. For your own sanity, do not talk to them when they call (except to tell them to communicate only in writing) and do not under any circumstances call them. Do not ever give them any info about your financial and personal situation since that will give them ammo to use against you. Any correspondence from them should be saved and save copies of your V/D letter(s). Send the letter certified, RRR and save your green cards from the P.O.
