It happens. I am in litigation with First Resolution Management on a Capital One account past SOL that does NOT appear on any of the 3 credit reports.
Now the FRM "account" is appearing twice on my reports. Once for collection account and once for in dispute.
I, too, have NO idea why the Cap One account does not appear, but it does not.
