I was issued a amex green card when I started with employer 6 yrs ago. Did not fill out credit app, but probably signed something (lots of paperwork when you start new job). Company received bills, paid balances, policy on card was that we could not use it for personal charges, any personal charges that might be co-mingled (ie movie chg while staying at hotel) was reimbursed to employer by employee.

Fast forward to 2002, company sends me on 2 trips in 2 months, then files Ch 11. Amex cancels all cards (they got wind of filing) Amex bill has not been paid in 2 mo. Amex sends a demand letter to me (with wrong employer name).

I am planning to write letter disputing that I owe the money, demanding that they prove that I agreed to be personally liable.

I can also file a claim with bankruptcy court for these charges.

Is this the best approach? Any other ideas? Thanks
