I received a letter from an attorney today in regard to a lawsuit that went to court last November. I received a letter in Feb, telling me that the lawsuit was gonna be dismissed without prejudice due to lack of prosecution. In March, it was dismissed and I stopped paying on it. The letter today said I was unable to make monthly payments in the specified amount and they had not received a payment in several mos. If I do not bring the acct current, they will proceed with the lawsuit. Does that mean I have to continue to pay, or do they not know that the lawsuit has been dismissed, or did that mean I just should have kept on paying them? In the meantime, I have been receiving letters from GSC (yikes) telling me they purchased the acct from the co. in which the lawsuit is set up in. Any help you could give me is appreciated. I live in New Mexico.
