: I just received a summons to go to court for a judgement against me on an unpaid credit card..
: My husband and I own our house and auto jointly... (both names are joined by the word "and")

: Can someone please tell me how a judgement works? Where is this document filed since they are only suing me and not my husband, can they put a lein on my auto or house.. I live in Florida, by the way, and we have the homestead act... If I were to sell or transfere my half of the auto to my husband, how does the judgement stop this action? I don't understand what goes on here.. Is there a lein at the automobile of registry to stop me from selling my half of the car etc.. ?

Also we own my husband and I, some real estate property by a Corporation. Can they execute their judgment against me. I am director with no share. But if I have some can they do something.
