Did you "settle" with a ca that Cap1 had assigned the account to or to an in house collector? The CA that said they are collecting fro Cap One. Remember I didn't know jack about the law at this point in time. I got the cashed check back though and it reflects an account for Capitol One Trust or something like that. Did you get ANYTHING in writing from Cap1 ? Nope... just from this collector How is the "unpaid balance" showing? Assigned to a CA?-Charged off?
Shows as a charge off account. But not sold.
Did you get a 1040C for the unpaid balance?
