If they want to win, they will probably show up with a copy of the original contract (arguably hearsay), the account history, the repo costs, and the sale info, including the costs associated with placing the vehicle for sale.

Make sure that they are the rightful owners of the debt. Ask for proof that the original contract was assigned to them. Look over your copy of the contract and make sure that all of their obligations were done in the event of default and repossession.

Unless, they failed to follow the proper procedures, and unless you were actually not in default, it's a tough battle. You might be able to minimize the damage if the car was sold at an unreasonably low price, but if the contract says that they can sell it at auction, then the price will be low.
