Believe it, DebtGuy, it happens every day ! Cruise the archives here. Cruise the posts over at creditnet.com and creditinfocenter.com if you don't believe me ! I believe there are only a very few states where reselling the remainder of a 'settled' debt is illegal, the rest just let the vermin CA's keep coming over and over and over.

Yes.. people are angry and tired of being screwed over, and that's why boards like this and the other's I've mentioned are helpful.

As bad as our economy is, there should be some kind of reform that does NOT penalize those of us who have been the victim of mass layoffs. The fact the creditors won't even offer you a hardship program until you're 3-4 months behind is LUDICROUS !! What is hardship if its not the total loss of your income ??? So, you can't qualify for these programs until your credit is totally in the sewer and then there 'hardship' terms are not all that great to boot.. they still want more money than most people would have to 'save their accounts' (exact phrase from MBNA !!).. like their doing US a favor !! A favor would be to totally suspend payments, interest charges and outrageous fees until a person once again has a payroll check .. not penalize the working people because they had the bad luck to be caught in the economic downturn.
