As I said before, you need to STOP paying on the high nterest high balance cards, get SOME credit cards paid off. If you open a new account jointly with a TRUSTED person, or possibly even your child as PRIMARY,you will have quite a while before any of the creditors starts any legal action against you. Here is a link t some BK information, as to how long before you file? It depends on your State and if and when the new BK laws gointo effect. In general, however anything 120 days prior to filing is OK.
