I live in Florida, I had surgery last year and due to an discrepencie with the referral from my doctor and that the insurance would not pay as a result the medical center sent me to a collection agency, the medical center new the claim was being re-processed as the Dr's office straightend the problem out with the insurance co. after numerous attempts to clear this matter with the collection agency they refuse to remove this off of my credit reports, by the way the insurance company paid the bill in feb of this year and the collection agency reported the account in march. I have all documentation to prove the account was first assigned in error and that the collection agency new the insurance company was involved. what do i do to get this off of my reoports short of suing both the collection agency and the medical center. I also purchase and sell homes for a living and this is hindering my score. please any advice would be great.
