HELP! i contacted my husband/step-daughter's old Deficiency Recovery Center

i tried to find out and researched a REPO that was showing up on my hubby's credit report, i know he secondary co-signed this car loan, and i think my step daughter has filed a bankcruptcy a few years ago... the Def Recov Cntr fax me infos on my husband and his daughter's acct, i told the Rep on the phone i was thinking about settling this debt by talking to my step-daughter....... the fax was sent to me Oct 22, and the Rep called me today Nov 5, and told me since this acct was "reopened" they have to follow-up on the collection and if "i" (but i think the Rep meant "they" hubby/daughter) dont take action they will sue(?) and it will cost "me" about $3000 for the lawyer's fee. btw, i am here at Oklahoma
pls help. ps: a newbie question :)
what SOL stands for?
