What kind of a loan was this? A personal fixed term loan? Does he have the papers he signed when he refinanced in 1997? When did he default?

I do not think this collection agency is legitimate, however it is POSSIBLE that if they can produce some recrd of him actually signing a fixed interest personal loan for a fixed term,that he MAY have some risk.

Was ths by any chance a car loan?
