Okay this is my area of expertise. First contact the original creditor, the dr's office. Speak to the Office Manager. Explain very politely and fairly what has happened and how this is impacting your credit, when in fact you do not have a collection account. Also, let them know that it is illegal to report something as a bad debt that was paid...you stated it was paid one month before going on your credit. That alone is illegal. Many medical groups do not know how horrible their collection agencies really are. Ask the Office Manager to "recall" your account or better yet have it expunged due to the fact that it is paid in full and paid at their office within the time frame. Give them 30 days to do so. Send a copy of your discussion with the Office Manager along with COPIES of all documentation you have. Explain this is a debt, that really isn't a debt. The original creditor can have it removed and very quickly at that. Ask for documentation proving it was deleted from all three major reporting agencies. Sometimes they send a copy of the fax to you showing the changes made for that particuar company. It should say, Add, Delete, Update. Make sure delete is checked. I hope this helps.
