I purchased money troubles by Robin Leonard.. She states, A new promise to pay a debt may also revive the staute of lim in some circumstances. In most states, an oral promise can revive a statute of lim., although a few states the promise must be in writing." Lets say, While on the phone I acknowledged a debt was mine and said, "I'd try to pay," have I extended the Sol. Can they bring the recorded tape to court if they decide to seek a judgement. Also, if your past the sol, and make a payment does that restart a new sol? Can i verbal commitment to pay extend the sol? thanks
