Join the club, my Chase just went to charge-off a month or so ago. It is now in the hands of 'The Bureuas', as CA. Chances are pretty good that it only SOUNDS like the OC, but it is most probably a CA calling you that Chase assigned the account to. Since they represent the OC, they often make it sound like they ARE the OC.

There's nothing that says the OC can't continue to try to collect. Its not unusual for assigned debts to be sent back to the OC for collection.
