She's not getting screwed. This is standard procedure.
First of all, the loan was included in the bk petition. That's Bk law. All creditors must be listed. Loans in bk must be handled carefully to avoid violating bk laws about violating the automatic stay. Most banks will shift them to a bk dept. and won't send out statements,etc.
I doubt she is being hurt. If they did report, the loan would be reported as included in bk.
Once the bk is discharged, ask if they'll report the trade line.
