I don't know if one thing will work any better than another. She really doesn't have a "hardship" - she made a mistake. Lots of people do the exact same thing. The truth usually works best. These companies hear every kind of story under the sun, and who knows how they will react. The "ring" of truth is pretty distinct, though, and hopefully the CCC will respond to it.
