I've explained it to our loan officer. She said I have two options: 1) settle up with the CA or 2) get a letter from the CA admitting they were wrong and will remove it from my credit. I don't think its hurt our interest rate too much, but my score was rather "embarrasing". Thus far I can't find the actual letter from Crestar, but I did send Experian a copy of the letter from my attorneys to Crestar w/ reference to the police report when I orginally disputed this. Experian came back with the CA validating it but not finding any information regarding the MBNA/Crestar account the letter was referring to. I'm looking for an attorney now to "strong arm" the CA into sending me proof that this account is mine. Time is not on my side. I'm supposed to secure financing by the end of November. YIKES! Thanks to all for all your helpful and reassuring advice that their may be an end to this "HELL".
