I had a similair problem with AOL, my dental insurance, and my Cell phone.

I closed or cancled all my plans and disconntiued use of all the services. Yet would you believe two months later I decided to check up on things and not one of them had closed things down. Each had their own reason. AOL says well we decided to give you two months free for your technical problems, the dental one said oh we are only the broker not the insurer and we have change who are insurer is so you'll have to talk with the one billing your account. As far as the cellphone - I love sprints service - but watchout for their customer care - geez croonies all the way. What do they hire right out of con prision for their policy writers?

Fortunatly for me I caught it. But heres what I had to do. I went to the bank (fortunatly I had used a Debt card and had removed all my money from the account after cancling my plans - but hey they charge you bounced check fees $75 a pop!!) and got a list of all who had billed my account. I then contacted them by phone and ensured I cancled my plans and get this - this is what you have to get a CONFIRMED CANCELATION #. That's the key. Get that number! without it your dead in the water.

But I got all of them to drop the charges (most of them told me they didn't submit a report to the credit union until 3 months had passed). The last deal was with the bank and they agreed to drop the bounced check charges for all but one.

So watch out for any of the subscriptions wither free trail or not. You need to get a confirmed cancelation number. It's also helpful to check the next month to make sure they aren't still charging you - even if your account is closed.
