25000 is ALOT to be honest but i'll tell ya i have only 1 chargeoff with otherwise great credit but that 1 chargeoff from summer 1998 is now with their nonsense interest & fees about 18000. so my advise is like Scott & Ladynred say in let them drop off in less than a year by themselves BUT id right now pull all 3 credit reports to see IF you have ANY default judgements that you may not know about .. by showing their NOT on any reports now & the dates of your credit reports being November 2002 it'll now reflect the dates showing past Michigan's 6 yr SOL so it'll kinda be like insurance IF in the future they try to possibly get a judgement against you you'll have proof that they are trying to do so AFTER your SOL has passed so therefore its illegal for them to now do so & win in court .. i personally have no problem if a creditor tries to collect within the states SOL becouse its the law & thats allowed & should be expected but once its 1 day past the states SOL the collectors are simply criminals trying to SCAM you out of money , oh yeah & by the way its illegal for them to do so but hell collectors dont give a damn about the law so thats why YOU need to lookout for you because they'll lie cheat & steal from you without even a second thought .. just my opinion but goodluck , kelly ..........
