If you have the signed agrement from the bank, and it was NOT signed by you, then you can fight it yourself. If you DID sign it, then, in effect, you signed a new written contract which was at some point breached by your ex.

Your best bet,if you have not been served in a law suit, is to demand validation with copies of any agreements and/or contracts bearing yor signature. Do NOT say you are not going to pay. The phrase to use is "this is not a refusal to pay, but a dispute of this account". DO NOT sign any letter, print or type your name.

If you HAVE been served, then go to my website, scroll down to the bottom, there is a link to information on answering a lawsuit. You can access much of the information you need through there, just ignore all the parts relting to credit cards, open accounts etc.
