When I was "younger" (and might I add incredibly stupid), I had 6 - 7 credit cards (originally totaling ~$10,000). Well, since then, they have all gone to collections. I live in PA and the last activity dates fall in between 1996-1997. What should I do? I married 2 years ago and we would like to buy a house in the next few years but I am so scared that this is going to ruin everything. Is it really true that the chargeoffs will just "come off" your credit report after 7 years? Is it best to wait the time out? How can I find out the exact dates this will happen? I don't even know what agencies the accounts are with.

I am thinking of getting a secured credit card to get back on track (well.. somewhat anyway).

PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE!!!
