If so, and they put GulfState as the original creditor, they have committed an illegal act by falsely filing the lawsuit.

If you have not already answered and sent in your notice to the court of your intention to attend the hearing, then you should show up with a STRONG claim of abuse of proccess against the CA and file a countersuit for violations of the FDCPA and your State's civil procedures.
