Judgement-- how do you know..

I have moved alot and really don't know if I have any judgements agianist me. Do they appear on the credit report? I have a delinquient accouints from June, 1997 that do and one Federal tax lein. I was in CA at the time and am in TX now. I never get contacted by anyone or have I gotten or get anything in the mail now.
