As other posts have informed you, OSI and GulfState are one and the same.

This business of "validation" looks good on "credit repair" sites, however it is relatively meaningless in civil court when YOU are being sued.

It is NOT a valid defense in a civil case, other then to increase your chances that the judge will believe you when you state you do not know if the debt is yours.

IF they can show any record of a debt, (they do not need your signed application unless you are claiming id theft), and the judge is satisfied that the account statements are sufficient to show that the debt is yours, unless you wish to lie and say "no sir, that is my name and address on this account, but it isn't mine" then you will lose.

NOW, if all they have is a computer print out, with no real account information, such as date opened date of delinquency or chargeoff, something in writing from you affirming the account in some way, then they have no case.

If you are beyond SOL, you have an affirmative defense, and if you choose to file a countersuit, THEN your validation requests will certainly be of value.
