You need to get your credit report and see what has happened.

If you are a victim of id theft, or if the ca has just made an error.

You do not have to prove that you had no account, THEY have to prove that you DID.

Answer the complaint with a statement that you had no account with Compucredit at any time and that their claim is false.

Meanwhile, if it is showing on your report, you need to file an id theft claim with the FTC and your State AG and send a dispute to the CA.

Do NOT fail to file your answer, if you do not defend yourself they will get a default judgment.
