There is nothing that can force a creditor to remove a charge-off from your credit report. You can ask that it be noted as a paid charge-off, but that won't help your score any.

You should be able to dispute the balance problem with the CRA's if you send along proof that it was paid in full.

You can't do this on the phone. You must put everything in writing and use certified, RRR mail to deal with CRA's or creditors. You can ask the OC if they'll change the listing to 'paid as agreed', but don't hold your breath.

The BEST time to send in disputes with CRA's is during the holidays (CHOD). Send in your disputes, one per letter, a day or two before Thanksgiving, you may get lucky !
