It is, I'm assuming, NY State because he went to college in NY. The Plaintiff on the letter states: State of New York VS. my hubby...

They say it is not a defaulted loan...we're making payments on his $7,000 consolidated loan --They're saying this is a pure tuition payment that was delinquent and was issued a judgment for...back in July of 1996...that they are trying to collect.

I read Lady's post and will try to figure out the jurisdiction, because I don't know that either...ugh...! We have nothing but this letter and there's no index number, no nothing.
