Who filed the judgment, the OC you paid or the CA?

The only one who can release the judgment is the entity that filed it.

What kind of receipt or acknowldgment did you get when you paid the OC?

If the receipt of payment was from the OC and they are the ones who filed, then they should have had the judgment marked as paid.

I do not know what you mean by "release" if their was a lien filed against your property it would be released when the judgment is shown a paid.

Check with your courthouse and see EXACTLY what needs to be done, and by whom.

If you are referring to your credit report, however, judgments paid or unpaid stay on 7 years from the filing date. (except NY=5 years for paid)
