Validation will accomplish only one thing, help in credit report removal if they cannot validate. The SOL letter accomplishes several things, it stops them from trying to collect, it prevents a time-barred lawsuit, (or acts as an AIRTIGHT defense if they do file) plus, it usually prevents them from verifying the account if you dispute it to the CRA's.as this can be construed as collection activities past the legally permissible time period.
