The SOL in Ill. for a written contract is 10 years, if you signed a written contract to pay for these services, and it was also signed by the service provider. Otherwise it is a 4 year SOL. In any case, you are beyond SOL and if you have actually been served with a summons -including a docket # etc. then you should file an answer with an affirmative defense that the suit is time-barred. If you do not have an attorney to help you,e-mail me and I will direct you to the appropriate forms. Or go to my website and look for the link to answering a SOL lawsuit.(just eliminate the stuff about open accounts)
