The problem is, you paid the OC, but they had sold the account to the CA, so legally, they had no right to accept your payment,since they no longer owned the debt.

The debt that the judgment was filed on was owned by the CA who filed it.

I suggest you contact the OC and state that if they do not get the judgment released by the CA you will file fraud charges against them as well as a legal action on their violation of the TILA, FDCPA, FCRA and your State's fraud statutes.

You might wish to seek legal help on this, of course, this is all on the presumption you hae kept all your records and receipts.
