The jewlery store could probably care less about $44 after 4+ years so you probably need to contact the CA. As far as the charge off goes, the original creditor probably WON'T deal with you. Even if you pay it off it will stay on your report as PAID. The older it is the less you should worry about paying it.
The ammount $44 dollars should tell you something about Gulf State. They are such low lifes that they are going to try to ruin someone's credit over $44. Pathetic creeps, I eat $44 for breakfast LOLOLOL
