It means exactly what it says, if a judgment lien is filed in NY, it attaches to Real Property, (homes etc.)for 10 years unless renewed, but can be used to attach other assets, including garnishment for the full 20 years. However, if you live in another State, your own State has law about exercising "foreign" judgments.
