hey wait dont tell me... JBC & Associates right?
Someone stole my checks last year wrote some checks out to toys r us ...somehow they had my license #(my license was also stolen so im guessing they made a new one)...so i got the letter and i sent them my aof(Affidavit of Forgery). they are claiming i never got it and i had till 12:00 noon today to send 910.00 cause they are charging me 3x the face amount of the checks otherwise ill be summonsed to court or something for criminal charges.. you know, i actually used to work for a collection agency i been to court a few million times with the attorneys and you know in NJ they are not allowed to even add those charges unless it is court approved..and those "service fees" they dont even have to be paid as long as the original check amount is paid off then it is no longer considered a debt, unless court ordered.

so i talked to them yesterday and the collector actually told me that tomorrow(today) they are going to court if i dont send them the money..
is anyone familiar with NJ Bad Check Laws?
I mean i sent the affidavit of forgery what more can i do? I was stupid and i didnt file a police report or anything..like i know that they are in violation of the FDCPA for not giving me the original check amounts when i asked for them but thats totally a different situation...so ill see if im summonsed to court.
