You need to dispute with the credit bureaus also.

They should respond to the fact that your husband's credit report should reflect a true representation of his credit and debt. If they include debt that he is not legally obligated for (we're really on thin ice here because you are married...but, it's worth arguing) then the debt ratio will be inaccurate. The credit bureaus, because their own records indicate he is an authorized user, should remove the account without needing to verify anything.

For the same reasons, Sears should also agree to remove the account from your husband's credit. Did you speak with a supervisor/manager?
