I have been reading this messgage board for months and this is my first posting. Thanks for all the knowledge.
My problem is a debt from an auto reposession that is now past the SOL. Is is now just over four years old.
My original creditor has put this debt on my credit report when I was first deliquent, and now I am waiting for another three years, and this will be (should be) removed.
Just recently, the collection agency has also reported this, and now it shows up as a new debt. My original debt was for 6,000 dollars. Now, with the second entry and the interest accural, it looks like I owe about 16,000 dollars. My debt from the original creditor still shows that the account is open. It does not show as a charge off.
I know that this debt should completely come off within seven years after the original deliquency. How do I try to get the collections agency entry off my credit report when the seven years are up ? Can I get them off now with the original creditor still on there ?
Thanks
