Citicorp charged off a valid debt 2 days before they received payment in full for the amount from me.

They accepted the payment- I have the cancelled check.

Soon after Collectcorp called me and sent letters claiming I owed the full amount that was charged off- I sent them a copy of the cancelled check and my final bill and told them to either validate or cease all future collections attempts, as the debt had already been paid.

I sent the letter Certified mail, return receipt. Got my green card back, but never heard anything else from them.

Well today I got a letter from National Financial Services trying to collect on the exact same "debt".

Are these scam companies going to continue to pass this invalid debt around until the end of time hoping that eventually I will pay them just to make them go away? The Citibank debt was for $16,500 and was paid IN FULL.

What can I do to make these idiots stop passing this bad info around? I now have TWO collections entries on my credit reports for $16,500. The assholes at Collectcorp didn't even remove their entry after they passed it on to the next CA!

Help!
